I don’t listen to a lot of music while writing. I can’t have any distractions but I do get inspired by music when I’m in the car or running or some other activity. The problem with music and inspiration is that sometimes it takes time to discover your own taste. <\/p>\n

I’ve never taken that time. I admire those that do, however.<\/p>\n

To give you an idea of how banal my music tastes are, my latest purchase was Icona Pop’s “I Love It.” <\/a> I like the beat, the catchy tune. It makes me think of Thelma and Louise and their amazing friendship. Oh and Abba. <\/p>\n

When I think about the women in my stories, I like them to be part of a friendship with other women. I couldn’t have survived this long without my female friends. I wish there were more of those depicted in fiction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
